EASY DIY Sensory Baby Rattle!!

Did you know that the United States is ranked the second out of seven countries, who spend over $300 on toys PER child. I think its ridiculous and quite extravagant to always want the newest things. I’m a fan of simplicity and practicality!

So today I decided to make my baby girl a sensory rattle from items we have around the house! I kept it small and colorful, for her to be able to grasp it and play with the bright ribbons.  It was super easy and took less than 30 minutes.

You’ll need: 

• Baby prune juice bottle (or any small plastic bottle)
• Colorful beads (or different colored dried beans/rice )
• Leftover holiday ribbons (or yarn)
• Scissor
• Screw driver

 

Instructions: 

1. Use screwdriver to make a hole on the bottle cap. Took me about 5 minutes.
2. Gather different colored ribbons and insert into hole of bottle cap. Then tie a knot!
3. Add colorful beads (beans or rice) inside bottle.
4. Finally close cap tightly and cut ribbons to your desired length.  (You can tape or super glue cap on as well)

 

Immediately upon handing her the rattle, my little one couldn’t stop shaking it,  holding onto, and chomping on the ribbons!  I’d say she enjoyed it 🙂
